Visio why can i move shapes

I use Microsoft Visio to create flowcharts, business process maps , use case diagrams and other type of documents. You can also move the shapes back and forwards on the worksheet. The principle is the same as grouping objects in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Note that you can also move the group to the back or bring to the front , for example, if you want it to float behind another image. Remember me Log in. Lost your password? Covered by US Patent. Welcome to our community! Hi Gang, I have been working on a Visio diagram for the last couple of days and no probs. However, I opened the file a moment ago and none of the shapes are moveable. The shape seems to move up and instantly snap back in a flash so fast you almost don't see it , then no movememt at all.

I added a text box, and it won't move either. Any ideas what I've done? Join our community to see this answer! Unlock 1 Answer and 7 Comments. Cut, copy, and paste work in Visio the same way as they do in other applications in Windows.

Cut is intended to move one item from one location to another, or when you want to remove something you may need later. Copy is used to duplicate items. They can then be pasted into a new location. The item will also remain on the clipboard until you cut or copy new items. Once a new item is placed on the clipboard, any previous items that resided there cannot be recovered. In the sample drawing, you need to copy one of the existing shapes and paste the duplicate in a new location.
